An audit by the Supreme Audit Office (SAI) of the Slovak Republic has revealed serious deficiencies in the management of state property. The state records more than 74,000 real estate properties, including 8,351 buildings, 63,790 plots of land, and 2,093 apartments, managed by 681 administrators. The problem is that data on this property is incomplete, fragmented, and often disconnected. SAI Vice-Chairman Jaroslav Ivančo pointed out that every fifth state property in the central information system is not linked to the real estate registry, and critical information, such as technical condition, is missing for many buildings.
