Minister of Health Discusses Medical Cooperation and Emergency Response with Lebanese Counterpart » Baghdad Today News Agency 07.07.2026

Iraqi Minister of Health, Abdul-Hussein al-Mousawi, held an official meeting on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, with his Lebanese counterpart, Rakan Nasser al-Din, and his accompanying delegation to discuss prospects for joint health cooperation between the two countries. The meeting focused on enhancing coordination in vital areas, including the exchange of expertise and skills between health institutions, as well as discussing cooperation in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, mass casualty medicine, and emergency preparedness and response mechanisms. During the meeting, al-Mousawi affirmed Iraq's full support for the health system in Lebanon, expressing his country's solidarity with Lebanon in facing the damage inflicted on the health sector due to the aggression. The Minister emphasized the readiness of the Iraqi Ministry of Health to provide all necessary forms of support and cooperation to strengthen the ability of Lebanese health institutions to continue providing vital services to citizens, ensuring the development of the health sector in both brotherly countries.
