Ministry of Employment Announces Study Results on ICT Talent Needs in Tunisia and Europe 07.07.2026

On Tuesday, July 7, the Tunisian Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training organized a workshop to present the results of a sectoral study on labor market needs for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) competencies. The event was held in cooperation with the Tunisian Observatory for Employment and Skills and the International Labour Organization (ILO), with funding from the European Union. Minister Riadh Chahed emphasized that the study aims to enhance foresight to address rapid technological transformations, noting that Europe will require approximately 10 million specialists in this sector by 2030, representing an opportunity for the export of Tunisian talent. The study also revealed a gap between educational programs and market requirements, necessitating a review of training mechanisms. The study included an analysis of needs in five European countries—France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg—focusing on software development and cybersecurity professions, amid a current workforce of 100,000 specialists in Tunisia.
