„Mir fällt kein anderer Grund ein“: Ärzte werfen Israel vor, sie wegen öffentlicher Kritik nicht mehr nach Gaza zu lassen 02.03.2026

Several doctors from the UK and US are accusing Israel of denying them re-entry into Gaza, citing their public criticism of Israel's actions or their identities as potential reasons. Emergency physician James Smith, who has not been to Gaza since June 2024, was denied re-entry twice and believes his public stance is the cause. Surgeon Khaled Dawas also reported being denied re-entry in August and November 2025 after previously working in Gaza, attributing the denial to his outspokenness. Palestinian-American emergency physician Thaer Ahmad suggests his origin, alongside security concerns cited by Israeli authorities, led to his four rejections. A petition has been filed with Israel's Supreme Court regarding these alleged unlawful entry denials, with orthopedic surgeon Graeme Groom, who has visited Gaza over 40 times, being one of the affected individuals. Israel's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (Cogat) has dismissed these accusations as false and unfounded, attributing them to organizations refusing to cooperate with Israel's registration process.
