Malaysia's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM), led by Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, is intensifying food security measures due to the West Asian conflict and hot weather. The ministry is focusing on improving supply chain efficiency, bolstering the agro-food sector, and implementing strategies to buffer the domestic market from external shocks like increased oil and logistics costs stemming from geopolitical instability. Simultaneously, the impact of hot weather and climate change on agricultural productivity is being addressed. Mohamad Sabu assured that essential food supplies for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration will be stable, sufficient, and affordably priced, a result of collaborative efforts between KPKM, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), government bodies, and industry stakeholders. The government remains committed to ensuring food security for its citizens under all conditions.
