Amendments to the Road Traffic Safety Law, which were approved by consensus on June 30, propose granting municipal officers the authority to control the traffic of bicycles, electric scooters, and other micro-mobility devices, as well as to penalize violators. During a committee meeting, Vice Minister of Transport Dovilė Sujetaitė emphasized that this change is timely and necessary, contributing to the increase of road safety. She also suggested considering the possibility of granting municipal officers the right to stop pedestrians who commit violations.
