More isolated villages to receive fiber optics and internet access 03.07.2026

An investment of 30 million euros in Portugal's interior territories, covering more than 416,000 buildings in so-called "white zones," aims to complete the installation of high-capacity fiber optic networks within three years. The project promises to bring high-speed internet and electronic communications to remote villages that previously lacked adequate infrastructure, including those without mobile network coverage, also utilizing satellites to expand access to calls and data.
