More than 1,200 teachers in Kindu denounce salary payment delays at Rawbank 07.07.2026

Radio Okapi

In Kindu, within the Maniema 1 educational province, more than 1,200 teachers from approximately 50 schools are denouncing delays in salary payments at Rawbank. These teachers, who have not received their June remuneration and fear for their July payments, deplore a bank transfer that was carried out without prior notification. Currently, they are waiting patiently for a necessary identification process to regularize their situation. According to DINACOPE, this situation stems from a banking reform aimed at grouping teachers from the same establishment into a single bank to simplify payroll. The director of DINACOPE, Ngandu Mwanalukengu, is calling on staff to be understanding regarding this structural change. For his part, the manager of Rawbank in Kindu, Alain Alimasi, assures that the identification operation will be completed within two weeks to resolve this financial ordeal.
