Moroccan intelligence insider reveals widespread use of Pegasus hacking software 10h ago

A former member of Morocco's Direction Générale de la Surveillance du Territoire (DGST) has provided unprecedented insight into the country's use of Pegasus spyware, manufactured by Israel's NSO Group. The whistleblower, known as Safir, revealed that the DGST began using Pegasus in 2017 after a demonstration in a Rabat villa, where NSO representatives remotely infected test phones, activating cameras and microphones. The spyware, allegedly a gift from the UAE, was used only for high-value targets after cheaper options were exhausted, with Safir describing it as "the monster's weapon."
