« Aucune leçon à recevoir » : après la mort de Quentin Deranque, la France convoque l’ambassadeur américainà 12h23 22.02.2026

France has summoned the U.S. Ambassador to France, Charles Kushner, following comments made by the Trump administration regarding the death of nationalist activist Quentin Deranque in Lyon. French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot stated on France info that France "receives no lessons" on violence, particularly from what he termed the "reactionary international." The U.S. administration had condemned far-left political violence after Deranque's death, calling for those responsible to be brought to justice. Barrot emphasized France's refusal to allow the instrumentalization of this tragedy and asserted that France handles its own political analyses and does not permit external interference, especially in matters concerning national tragedies. He also confirmed that the incident with Italy, whose Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had also commented, is considered closed.
