Mort de Quentin Deranque : L’ambassadeur américain « sèche » une convocation, le Quai d’Orsay le sanctionne 23.02.2026

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, known as the Quai d’Orsay, has sanctioned the American Ambassador to Paris, Charles Kushner, after he failed to attend a summons on Monday evening. The meeting was requested following comments made by the Trump administration regarding the death of Quentin Deranque, a radical far-right student. The Quai d’Orsay expressed displeasure with this diplomatic snub, stating that Kushner’s absence demonstrated an apparent misunderstanding of an ambassador's basic duties. Consequently, French Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has restricted Kushner's direct access to French government members, though the ministry indicated that diplomatic channels remain open to resolve any issues that may arise in the 250-year-old Franco-American relationship.
