Mort de Quentin Deranque : « On s’organise pour ne pas être visibles »… Avant l’hommage, la peur des débordements à Lyon 20.02.2026

Lyon is bracing for a potentially large and disruptive nationalist march on Saturday, honoring Quentin Deranque, who was fatally assaulted last week. Authorities and residents express significant concern that the event, expected to draw 2,000 to 3,000 participants, including radical European groups, could escalate into violence and create an atmosphere of insecurity, particularly for LGBTQIA+ individuals. In response to these fears, local mayors have requested the march be banned, and a petition to prohibit it has garnered over 10,000 signatures. An LGBTQIA+ event was already canceled due to threats, and residents are advised to avoid certain areas. Deranque's family has called for calm and restraint, with their lawyer stating they will not participate and wish for a peaceful, apolitical tribute.
