Mort de Quentin Deranque : Paris convoque l’ambassadeur américain après les commentaires de l’administration Trump 22.02.2026

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced on Sunday that Paris will summon the U.S. Ambassador to France, Charles Kushner, following comments made by the Trump administration regarding the death of Quentin Deranque, a 23-year-old far-right activist beaten to death in Lyon by far-left individuals. Barrot stated France refuses any political instrumentalization of this tragedy and will not accept lessons on violence, particularly from the "international reactionary." The Trump administration had previously condemned far-left political violence and called for the perpetrators' prosecution. This follows a similar incident where Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni commented on Deranque's death, leading to a dispute with French President Emmanuel Macron.
