Mort de Quentin Deranque : sept individus ont été mis en examen, d’autres relâchés… le procureur de Lyon fait le point 19.02.2026

Lyon's prosecutor, Thierry Dran, announced on February 19th that seven individuals, aged 20 to 26, have been indicted and are facing provisional detention in connection with the death of Quentin Deranque. The suspects, who include students, private sector employees, an unemployed person, and a parliamentary assistant, admitted to being present at the scene of the assault and some confessed to striking Deranque or other victims, though all denied intent to kill. Three of the seven have declared ties to the far-left movement. The prosecutor cited the risk of public disorder, concertation, and evidence destruction as reasons for the detention request. The investigation, which involved witness interviews and video analysis, is ongoing, with other individuals still to be identified. Four people suspected of aiding suspects were released but will be summoned later.
