On Monday, February 23rd, the Palestinian Authority accused Israeli settlers of attacking and setting fire to a mosque in the village of Tell, near Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. The attackers also allegedly scrawled racist slogans on the walls. While an AFP journalist observed burnt carpets, fractured doors, and smoke-blackened walls and windows, there were no structural damages to the mosque. The Palestinian Ministry of Religious Affairs condemned the act as a demonstration of "barbarism" and noted a rise in such attacks in the West Bank during 2025, totaling 45. The Israeli army confirmed that forces were dispatched to the area following reports and videos of suspects involved in the arson and graffiti, and an investigation is underway to apprehend them.
