On Friday, the Chamber of Deputies approved, in its third reading, an amendment to the Rules of Procedure aimed at curbing obstructions during the legislative process. The anti-obstruction amendment, supported by 110 out of 136 present lawmakers, particularly restricts speakers' ability to propose changes to the meeting agenda and grants the plenum broader authority to limit speaking time. The restrictions could newly apply to lawmakers with the right to priority speaking. The Senate will now review the norm.
