The Chamber of Deputies failed to approve a proposal to restrict alcohol consumption during its sessions, as only 47 out of 131 present MPs voted in favor of the so-called 'lex střízlivost' (soberness law). The proposal was submitted by MPs from the STAN movement, who argued that alcohol has been a long-standing issue in the Chamber of Deputies and that the same rules should apply as for ordinary employees, whose consumption of alcohol at the workplace is prohibited by the Labor Code. MP Jan Papajanovský described the proposal as anti-elite and stated he wanted to bring the Chamber closer to ordinary people with it.
