MSF accuses Israel of manufacturing a malnutrition crisis in Gaza 07.05.2026

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) asserts that Israel has engineered a severe malnutrition crisis in Gaza by imposing significant restrictions on aid and food deliveries, leading to detrimental health outcomes for pregnant women and newborns. An analysis of medical data from four health facilities between late 2024 and early 2026 revealed that over half of pregnant women received by MSF suffered from malnutrition, with 25% still malnourished at delivery. This resulted in 90% of infants being born prematurely and 84% having low birth weight, significantly increasing their mortality risk and long-term developmental challenges. MSF contends that malnutrition was virtually nonexistent before October 2023 and that the current crisis is a direct consequence of Israel’s actions and the subsequent deterioration of living conditions and healthcare infrastructure.
