Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) in Dar es Salaam has introduced a breast reconstruction program to help women who have lost breasts due to cancer or other conditions. Hospital records show that during the 2023/24 period, about 200 women underwent mastectomy procedures, primarily for breast cancer. The program, launched in 2024, has already performed one successful reconstruction surgery, with four more scheduled this week, bringing the total to five beneficiaries.
