Mutuelles : Le coût des hospitalisations et de certains actes médicaux va augmenter au 1er mars 20.02.2026

Starting March 1, 2024, French mutual insurance companies and their policyholders will face increased costs due to government-mandated transfers of healthcare expenses. The government aims to save €400 million by shifting hospitalisation charges, leading to a rise in the daily hospitalisation forfait from €20 to €23 and the emergency room forfait from €19.61 to €23. Furthermore, as of April 1, 2026, the forfait for medical procedures costing €120 or more will increase from €24 to €32, affecting hospitals, clinics, and private practices. These increased charges will primarily fall on "responsible" mutuals, which represent 98% of contracts, prompting criticism from professionals who view this as the government offloading its financial burdens.
