Met quentins dood draait het vizier van radi caal rechts weg naar radi caal links als het grote gevaar 22.02.2026

In Lyon, France, approximately 3,200 people gathered for a memorial march for Quentin Deranque, a 23-year-old nationalist student who died from injuries sustained during a severe beating by an extremist left-wing group. Seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, including a parliamentary employee of the radical left-wing party La France Insoumise (LFI). The death of Deranque has intensified existing political tensions in France, particularly between the far-right and far-left, with the far-right now directing its focus towards the radical left as the primary threat. President Macron urged for calm, while the mayor of Lyon attempted to ban the march, fearing violent clashes. LFI is facing significant criticism and is being held partially responsible for the violence, with some suspects linked to the now-banned antifascist group La Jeune Garde, which had previously received explicit support from LFI politicians.
