Namibia is nearing a resolution with Germany on a joint declaration concerning the 1904-1908 Ovaherero and Nama genocide, with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah expressing optimism for its conclusion by year-end. In education, a fully subsidized tertiary funding model has been implemented, allocating N$663 million and expanding student financial aid eligibility. The president is urging swift passage of the petroleum amendment bill to manage potential oil resources effectively, with an oil unit established under the Presidency. Investment projects valued at N$4.3 billion were registered last year, creating 1,503 jobs, and further projects worth N$63.5 billion are in development. Agriculture saw N$2 billion in exports in 2025, with significant growth in local fruit and white maize production, and Namibia holding a 56% market share in vegetables.
