Marseille rapper Naps, real name Nabil Boukhobza, has been sentenced to seven years in prison with immediate incarceration by the Paris criminal court. The 40-year-old artist was found guilty of raping a young woman in a hotel room in October 2021 while she was asleep. The court cited the "absence of consent" as a key factor, noting the victim consistently stated she was asleep and awoke to the pain of penetration. The verdict followed a two-day trial, with the deliberation lasting over four hours. Naps, known for his hit song "La kiffance," will also have his details entered into the Fijais registry for sexual or violent offenders.
