NASA releases 12,000 more Artemis II astronaut images inspiring ‘moon joy' 05.05.2026

NASA has officially released a massive collection of 12,000 images captured by the Artemis II crew during their 10-day lunar flyby in April 2026. Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen documented the mission using various devices, including Nikon D5 and Z 9 cameras, an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and National Geographic GoPro cameras. These photographs, which the crew described as "moon joy," feature detailed views of the lunar far side, shadowed geological regions, and unique perspectives of Earth from 250,000 miles away. By collaborating with a geology imaging team, the crew successfully targeted specific lunar surface areas. These high-resolution images are expected to provide critical data to assist NASA in selecting future landing sites for upcoming human lunar missions.
