National Assembly: Adoption of six strategic bills for security and development 07.07.2026

On Monday, July 6, 2026, the National Assembly unanimously adopted six strategic bills aimed at strengthening security and development in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The first text concerns a security cooperation agreement with Turkey to combat terrorism, cybercrime, and illegal trafficking. This bill has been transmitted to the Senate for a second reading. Concurrently, five financing agreements were approved to support essential sectors such as health, energy, and infrastructure. These funds will enable the construction of hospitals in Kinshasa, rural electrification via renewable energy, support for SMEs, and the modernization of Luano Airport in Lubumbashi. Unlike the security component, these five development agreements were directly transmitted to the President of the Republic for immediate promulgation.
