The results of national exams, taken by over 76,000 fourth and eighth-grade students, were presented at the National Centre for Education (NCVVO). Fourth-graders were most successful in nature and society, while eighth-graders showed the best results in history and English. The results of fourth-graders in writing summaries particularly raised concerns, with 37.5% of students failing to meet basic requirements. Eighth-graders achieved better results in writing summaries compared to fourth-graders. Gender analysis shows girls are more successful in languages, while differences in mathematics and STEM subjects are smaller. Overall, student achievements range from 42 to 60 percent completion, which is considered satisfactory.
