National Security Advisor Discusses Strengthening Security Partnership Between Baghdad and Berlin with German Ambassador 07.07.2026

Iraqi National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Aboudi, held an official meeting on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Iraq, Daniel Krämer, to discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership and security cooperation between Baghdad and Berlin. The meeting focused on developing bilateral relations, particularly in the security and intelligence sectors, emphasizing the necessity of continued joint coordination to combat terrorism and exchange essential security information. During the meeting, al-Aboudi stressed the importance of unifying international efforts to confront extremism, noting Iraq's pivotal role in protecting regional and international security and its contributions to the war against ISIS. For his part, the German Ambassador expressed his country's keenness to expand the scope of cooperation and the exchange of expertise with Iraq, praising the Iraqi role in supporting regional stability, while the Iraqi government reaffirmed its commitment to international laws and its desire for global openness to support development.
