New generation of intl visitors follows in Snow's footsteps 22h ago

A thematic forum titled "Telling Story Well: From Empathetic Communication to Cultural Identity" was held in Zhengzhou, Henan province, on Saturday as part of the 2026 China Internet Media Forum. Over 200 international and domestic participants, including content creators, scholars, business figures, and descendants of Edgar Snow, gathered to discuss the importance of firsthand experience in understanding China, echoing Snow's own observations from his visits in 1937 and 1960. The forum emphasized that authentic connection with Chinese culture transcends headlines and abstract narratives, drawing inspiration from Snow's seminal work "Red Star Over China" and his later travels in Henan. A field tour retracing Snow's path through Zhengzhou and Luoyang was also a key component of the event.
