Effective immediately, new Malaysian passports will have a 10-year validity period, costing RM350 for individuals aged 13 to 59. Senior citizens aged 60 and above will pay RM175, and passports will be issued free of charge to individuals holding Persons with Disabilities (PWD) cards. This change replaces the previous five-year validity for RM200, with senior citizens previously paying RM100. The new gazette also details increased fees for replacing damaged or lost passports, with the first replacement for those aged 13-59 now costing RM550, up from RM400. Subsequent replacements and fees for senior citizens and PWD cardholders have also been revised.
