DMK MP Kanimozhi has formally requested External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to urgently address UK visa difficulties faced by over 300 students sponsored by the Tamil Nadu government. In a letter dated August 17, the Thoothukkudi MP highlighted that students selected under the Annal Ambedkar Overseas Higher Education Scholarship Scheme for the 2025-26 period are encountering obstacles because the state government's financial sponsorship is not being recognized for UK visa applications. This issue follows changes introduced by UK Visas and Immigration on April 17.
