No one in custody due to cannabis cultivation in Reykholt - RÚV.is 03.07.2026

The South Iceland Police uprooted an extensive cannabis cultivation in Reykholt over the weekend, where nearly 200 cannabis plants, along with cultivation equipment and other narcotics, were seized. One person was arrested in connection with the case but released after questioning. An investigation is underway, and the case is believed to be part of an organized crime group, as police suspect the same parties were behind two other cannabis cultivations recently shut down in the southwest. Magnús Ragnarsson, chief superintendent at the South Iceland Police, confirms that the case is following standard procedures and did not disclose the gender or number of suspects.
