Nolungile Clinic says rising patient numbers behind long queues in Khayelitsha 03.06.2026

Nolungile Clinic in Khayelitsha Site C is experiencing significant patient dissatisfaction due to extended wait times and long queues, which disrupt daily activities. Clinic leadership attributes these delays to a rising patient volume straining existing resources, despite assurances from the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness spokesperson, Abulele Dyasi, that adequate staff and equipment are present. Dyasi stated that rapid community expansion is the primary cause of strain and encouraged patients to utilize the appointment system to regulate patient flow and minimize overcrowding. While the department has received no formal complaints and plans no immediate resource increases, patient feedback is considered integral to service enhancement. Patients, however, describe visits as all-day ordeals, with some waiting from early morning until late afternoon.
