Normalien, macroniste historique, député à 29 ans… Qui est David Amiel, le nouveau ministre des Comptes publics ? 22.02.2026

David Amiel, a 33-year-old Renaissance politician and close associate of President Emmanuel Macron, has been appointed as the new Minister of Public Accounts. This promotion follows his previous role as Minister Delegate for Public Service and State Reform. Amiel, who boasts an elite educational background including studies at Princeton, has a long history with Macron, having interned at Bercy during Macron's tenure as Economy Minister and later working at the Elysée Palace. He co-authored an essay defining "macronism" and was instrumental in Macron's 2022 re-election campaign before becoming a Member of Parliament for Paris's 15th arrondissement at age 29. Colleagues describe him as knowledgeable in public finance and a liberal, though some note his reforms have been seen as regressive for public sector employees. He replaces Amélie de Montchalin, who will become the first female president of the Court of Auditors.
