Northern Super League adds seventh franchise in Winnipeg 14.07.2026

The Northern Super League announced Monday that Winnipeg will join as its seventh franchise, becoming the league's first expansion team when it begins play in 2027. The club is co-founded by Desiree Scott, a four-time Olympian and Olympic gold medallist, and Rob Gale, a former Canada Soccer youth national team coach who most recently served as head coach of the Portland Thorns in the National Women's Soccer League. Scott will serve as vice-president of community and player experience, while Gale will take over as chief sporting officer.
