Norwegian Investors Eye Ethiopia’s E-Mobility and Green Investment Opportunities 03.06.2026

Ethiopian and Norwegian officials convened in Addis Ababa on June 2, 2026, to explore enhanced investment cooperation in green sectors, specifically renewable energy and electric mobility. EIC Commissioner Zeleke Temesgen and Norwegian Ambassador Stine Christensen led discussions focusing on Ethiopia's ongoing policy and institutional reforms designed to foster a more transparent and predictable investment climate. These reforms aim to attract private investment and support business growth, with particular emphasis on the burgeoning electric mobility sector through supportive policies and infrastructure. Norwegian investors have expressed significant interest in Ethiopia's green economy, leveraging Norway's established expertise in sustainable energy transitions. Preparations for the Nordic–Africa EV Summit in September, also in Addis Ababa, were a key topic, with the event poised to unite stakeholders to advance electric mobility and clean transport.
