Nurfitrah shines as Malaysia finish fifth in Under-18 Asia Cup 04.06.2026

Malaysia secured fifth place in the Under-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament held in Kakamigahara, Japan, by defeating Bangladesh 4-0 on Thursday. Nurfitrah Nadhia Shamsudin was a key player, scoring two goals in the 36th and 38th minutes. Nur Zariefah Dania Mazlan and Nur Qashrina Azli contributed further goals in the 52nd and 55th minutes, respectively. Nurfitrah concluded the tournament as Malaysia's leading scorer with a total of five goals. The Malaysian team registered two wins and two losses throughout the competition. Coach Siti Amarina Ruhani acknowledged Bangladesh's improvement, noting that her inexperienced team had to overcome early pressure before securing the victory in the latter stages of the match.
