NVIDIA starts offering a 12GB version of the 5070 for laptops 18h ago

NVIDIA is releasing a new 12GB variant of its GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU to help manufacturers address ongoing memory shortages for their devices. This new configuration will utilize 24Gb G7 memory modules, complementing the existing 8GB models that use 16Gb G7 memory. The move aims to increase the availability of memory for partners like ASUS, Lenovo, and MSI, who are expected to offer laptops with this updated GPU starting in June. While pricing is unconfirmed, reports suggest these 12GB 5070 laptops could be priced similarly to 5070 Ti models. However, the memory speed may not be as fast as higher-tier GPUs due to the likely retention of a 192-bit bus interface.
