Olympia, Viererbob: Gold und Silber für Deutschland – Lochner kürt sich zum Doppel-Olympiasieger 22.02.2026

Johannes Lochner concluded his career with a dominant performance in the four-man bobsled at the Olympic Winter Games in Cortina d'Ampezzo, securing a double Olympic gold medal. He and his crew, Thorsten Margis, Jörn Wenzel, and Georg Fleischhauer, finished 0.57 seconds ahead of his rival Francesco Friedrich, who took silver. This victory marked a significant achievement for Lochner, who had previously earned 16 silver medals across various championships. The German Bobsleigh and Sled Federation (BSD) surpassed their 2022 Beijing medal count with this win, bringing their total to 17, a testament to the athletes' exceptional performances across multiple disciplines. Lochner's win also made his push athlete, Margis, the most successful bobsledder in Olympic history with five gold medals.
