One killed, many trapped as five-storey building collapses in Rivers State 25.06.2026

A five-storey building under construction collapsed along Peter Odili Road in Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at approximately 9 a.m. on Wednesday, trapping multiple workers. Among those trapped are the site engineer and the contractor, according to witnesses. Emergency responders, including officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nigerian Red Cross Society, and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), swiftly arrived at the scene to coordinate rescue efforts.
