Orang Asli volunteers vow to keep searching for missing hiker Jaslinda 03.06.2026

Orang Asli volunteers are committed to continuing their search for Jaslinda Saludin, 49, who has been missing since May 24 while climbing Gunung Batu Putih near Tapah. A group of 22 Semai volunteers, guided by their coordinator Chew Ho Beng, believe Jaslinda is still in the Gunung Batu Putih area, specifically around Kem Sukaneka and Gunung Rayu, based on their extensive experience and gathered clues. They will continue their daily activities in the forest, remaining vigilant for any sign of the missing hiker. The incident has prompted Chew to urge climbers and outdoor enthusiasts to prioritize safety, meticulously plan expeditions, inform local communities, and adhere to daylight travel times to minimize risks and aid potential rescue efforts. He also voiced disappointment over littering, including sanitary waste, left by some climbers, emphasizing the need for greater environmental respect and adherence to local customs.
