A 45-year-old Albanian man residing in Florence is under investigation for murder and concealment of a body in connection with the 2003 disappearance of Imane Laloua, a young woman of Moroccan origin from Prato. Her remains were discovered three years later in a sack along the A1 motorway in Barberino del Mugello. The investigation, reopened after the family's opposition to a previous archival request, is focusing on previously unanalyzed items found in the suspect's car, with investigators seeking DNA traces of the victim. This new lead emerged from a complex inquiry that involved cross-referencing missing persons cases with other investigations, particularly one concerning a security guard in Prato accused of murdering two Romanian escorts. The suspect's potential travel route along the A1, passing through Tuscany before his arrest, prompted the transfer of the case to the Florence prosecutor's office.
