In his closing speech for the final legislative session before the upcoming elections, Mohamed Ould Rachid, President of the Council of Councillors, announced that the Council discussed and voted on 108 legislative texts, consisting of 55 legislative proposals and 53 bills. He emphasized that this session marks the first in the Council's history where the number of legislative proposals presented to the plenary session has exceeded the number of bills, indicating a shift in the legislative balance in favor of parliamentary initiative.
