The Coast is Clear Foundation led a significant marine cleanup operation along Malta’s south coast, removing 61 large bags of waste from the waters around Marsaxlokk, Delimara, Blue Grotto, and Filfla. The initiative, funded by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, recorded 915 plastic bottles collected in a single day across the cleanup sites. The campaign targeted both popular coastal areas like Blue Grotto and the ecologically sensitive waters surrounding Filfla, emphasizing the widespread nature of marine pollution.
