Trade, industry and competition minister Parks Tau has tested positive for Covid-19, as confirmed by a media statement from his department on Wednesday night. Department spokesperson Kaamil Alli stated that Tau is currently in self-isolation and remains in good spirits. This announcement comes shortly after Tau's recent address to parliament regarding the department's 2026/27 budget. His last international trip was in May to attend the World Hydrogen Summit in the Netherlands. Individuals who have had recent close contact with the minister are being advised to take precautions and seek testing.
