With eight days remaining until the municipal elections, the Party for the Animals staged a protest outside Booking.com's Amsterdam headquarters on Thursday, declining an invitation to a debate. Anna Krijger, fourth on the Party for the Animals Amsterdam list, stated the party's aim is for the municipality to sever ties with Booking.com, urging the company to cease offering accommodations in the West Bank and highlighting its role in the city's mass tourism. Krijger asserted that some companies profit excessively from tourism with minimal contribution to the city, and that mass tourism exacerbates pollution and climate change, emphasizing that after exhausting dialogue, action is necessary.
