A 39-year-old woman who worked as a cashier for a political party has been charged with large-scale fraud after successfully deceiving 25 people into taking out loans exceeding 887,000 euros (nearly 1.5 million BGN). The investigation began following a television report that exposed the scheme. The woman posed as an authorized person recruiting candidates for European funding, leveraging her position within the party to build trust with the victims.
