Pasco: a 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded this morning in Oxapampa 07.07.2026

The Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) reported a 3.4 magnitude earthquake recorded on the morning of this Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in the Huancabamba district, Oxapampa province, Pasco region. The seismic movement occurred at exactly 5:46 AM, with a depth of 15 kilometers and located 3 kilometers northwest of the aforementioned locality. According to the National Emergency Operations Center (COEN), the tremor was lightly perceived by the local population. Following this event, Indeci reminded the public of the importance of remaining calm and having an emergency backpack ready. Authorities continue to monitor vulnerable areas to prevent disasters in the event of possible aftershocks or higher-magnitude events affecting the region.
