Patrick Balkany jugé en avril pour détournement de fonds publics : deux nouvelles affaires à Levallois-Perret 20.02.2026

Patrick Balkany, the former mayor of Levallois-Perret, is scheduled to face trial in April for two separate cases of public fund embezzlement. The first case, investigated by an investigating judge, covers alleged misuse of municipal police officers as private drivers and vehicles between January 2010 and May 2015. This investigation began after a report from police unions in December 2012. Balkany was indicted in July 2020 for these alleged actions. A second case, stemming from a preliminary investigation, also involves embezzlement and illegal interest-taking, reportedly concerning the former director of economic development who allegedly continued to be paid after retirement in 2012. Balkany's lawyers have stated they will contest these accusations. This comes after Balkany, 77, was granted conditional release for the remainder of his prison sentence from a 2023 financial crime conviction, a decision the prosecution has appealed.
