Patrik Olave, a 38-year-old Spanish trainer who relocated to Pyrénées-Atlantiques a year ago, is pinning his hopes on his horse Grandpa Cen in the upcoming Quinté race at Cagnes-sur-Mer on Saturday, February 21st. Olave, who holds a Master's degree in history and previously practiced his profession in Madrid for seven years, transitioned to horse racing after discovering it through his father, a keen turfiste. He honed his skills with notable professionals in France, including Mikel Delzangles in Chantilly, and in England, before establishing his own stable. Despite not coming from a traditional racing background, Olave's enduring passion for horses has driven his career change.
