Nikolay Patrushev, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Maritime Board, emphasized the priority of tasks aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Russian maritime transport in his congratulatory address for the Day of Maritime and River Fleet Workers. According to the statement, the state strategy is aimed at strengthening positions in the maritime shipping market, accelerating the development of offshore fields, and providing businesses with modern domestically produced vessels. Patrushev noted the importance of developing internal waterways and implementing large-scale projects for national and international transport corridors. According to him, President Vladimir Putin is setting tasks for the industry that must guarantee the transport independence and economic security of the state. These measures are viewed as a key element in protecting national interests amidst a changing geopolitical environment that requires accounting for new military threats, including the creation of a naval alliance between Europe and Ukraine.
